My subjects are of people who I find inspiring, including imaginary characters. Inspiration come from my interest in early 19th century portraits of people with various backgrounds, also the work of ethnographic research.  I combine these two sources and respond in my work.  I keep my materials simple using ink, pencil and color pencils. I enjoy doing portraiture work.  There is this element of peace, like in the space between the photographer and the subject being photographed, exploring techniques using materials that i choose in my art work.

In 2018, I began splitting my time between my home in Venice, CA. and Iowa City, Iowa where I am working and assisting in the studio/gallery of the artists Tomas and Charlie Lasansky, where I am currently learning and exploring the various styles and techniques of intaglio printmaking.
